One day / A thread of your own

Follow a little
curiosity.

Make something. Meet a different view. See what you want to explore.

Notice

What draws you in?

Play with an everyday “should.” Build a little world from colours, pictures, and details you like.

An illustrated doorway, a sketchbook and paper pathswhat if…

Imagine

Try a different view.

Step into a story where the rules work differently. What becomes possible? What feels harder?

A collage of notes, books, thread and flowerssomething to explore

Explore

Bring an idea along.

Explore what is already here, what you can influence, and where support could help.

Carry forward.
Even a question counts.

Your private Story Passport holds what stays with you. Follow a thread, change it, or leave it behind.

A relaxed 9–3 day

Time to arrive, play, make, talk, and pause, with food and beverages provided. The day moves through Notice, Imagine, Explore, and Carry Forward, with breaks along the way. You can skip an activity, change direction, or simply watch.

A glimpse of the day

Try something.
Surprise yourself.

Notice what draws you in. Imagine a world with different rules. Explore what changes when real-life conditions enter the picture.

The Great Script Remix

Who made these rules, anyway? Keep them, remix them, or invent a rule that fits you better.

Build Your Little World

Tear, choose, arrange. Make a little world from the colours, places and details you’re drawn to. What would you like to have room for?

The Possibility Lab

What if addresses changed hands every Tuesday—or no one put their name on their work? Try an unfamiliar world, see what follows, and disagree with its rules. Try Chapter One now ›

Wait, You Too?!

Play with surprising similarities, unexpected differences, and conversations you didn’t see coming.

The Choice Exchange

Bring a question from your little world or the Lab—or start fresh. Try “Same Card Different Worlds,” notice resources and limits, then browse an optional exchange of small offers and curiosities.

A Note to Future You

Gather a few discoveries in a note to keep or seal for yourself. A question counts. So does a possibility.

Your private Story Passport can carry a thread between experiences. Keep it, change it, or leave it behind. Nothing has to become a plan.

This sounds like me

Chapter 01 / The invitation

An ordinary Tuesday.
A small unexpected invitation.

A short online story, about a minute. Follow your curiosity and keep a little postcard. At the gathering, the longer Possibility Lab changes the rules of the world—and gives you time to play with what follows.

A little room for a what-if?

This imagined morning has a little space in it. There is nothing to get right.

No sign-up. Nothing to type or submit. Your choices stay in this page and disappear when you refresh.

Imagine · the longer on-site experience

Explore The Possibility Lab · longer story

At the gathering, there’s time to try a route, compare another rule and talk or write privately. The short online Chapter One above is just a taste.

Explore · The Choice Exchange

Same card.
Different worlds.

Something from Little World or the Lab might still be on your mind. Before bringing it here, try a fictional example. The same wish can meet very different conditions.

Try The Choice Exchange · optional private prompts

A seat in the evening class

Mina wants to join a free evening ceramics class. The card says: “Find time to go.”

World A

The class is nearby. Mina can change her evening routine. She already has a free place and a bus pass.

World B

The place is available, but Mina’s caring shift overlaps. Someone has offered cover once, not every week.

World C

The last accessible bus leaves before class ends. Mina cannot change the route or the timetable.

For each world, where might this card belong? You can change your mind; more than one reading can make sense.

A thread you might bring along

An image from Little World, a surprising rule from the Lab, or a fresh question. Use your own words, keep it fictional, or leave this blank.

What part, if any, can I choose? “Not sure” is welcome.

What could help? Is that support actually available?

What depends on systems, rules or other people’s decisions?

Time, knowledge, a place, an existing arrangement, a person who has already offered—anything you want to notice.

Access, opening hours, caring responsibilities, policy or another constraint. No money, job title or personal explanation needed.

A little exchange, if you’d like

At the gathering, you can put a small offer or curiosity on the shared board—or just browse. Nothing here is posted automatically. Copy only what you choose onto a paper card.

There’s no trade to make, no obligation to reply or follow up, and no need to share contact details. A conversation may help; it cannot fix every structural obstacle. You can leave with a question rather than a plan.

Private notes save as you type in this tab only. Refreshing clears them. Downloads and printouts stay with you.

A few things you might wonder

A little more
before you come.

Hi, I’m Chen.
I’m Chen—a sociologist curious about the stories that shape us, an educator who loves making discovery playful, and a coach who makes room for your own answers. I created OFF SCRIPT to bring those worlds together, with play, thoughtful questions, and good company. I’d love to have you there. — Chen

Is this for me?

This gathering is for women who would enjoy creativity, connection, or space to explore what they want more of. You don’t need to be in a transition, know your next step, or explain why you came.

Curiosity is enough. You’re welcome to listen, take your time, and choose how you participate.

How will the day flow?

Notice → Imagine → Explore, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Eastern Time. We begin with everyday scripts and Build Your Little World, pause for a break, then try The Possibility Lab and “Wait, You Too?!” The Choice Exchange follows, before a private note and our closing finale.

Your Passport can carry something between activities, but you can change direction, start fresh or pass. See the day’s broad rhythm ›

Do I have to speak or share my story?

No. You can write privately, observe, or join in. Seated alternatives are available, and you can pass on activities or take a break. We’ll ask everyone to respect privacy and avoid unsolicited advice. You choose whether to exchange contact details. Photos of participants will be opt-in.

When and where is Basecamp?

Join us on Friday, December 4, 2026, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Eastern Time. Free admission. The venue is confirmed: Women’s Rights Information Center, 108 W Palisade Ave, Englewood, NJ 07631. Food and beverages will be provided. Register with your name and email for confirmation and arrival details.

Is this coaching or therapy?

OFF SCRIPT is a coaching-inspired community experience, rather than therapy or one-to-one coaching. Creative activities and questions offer room to explore; a particular outcome or breakthrough is not promised.

Can I join without a phone?

Yes. Paper prompts will be available alongside optional digital activities. Seated participation and breaks are welcome. Contact Chen about access needs before attending.

For community partners

This Basecamp is hosted by Reflections Collective in collaboration with Women’s Rights Information Center, under the sponsorship of Watson Institute.
